Completely redesigned for 2005, the highly anticipated sixth generation (C6)
Corvette continues in both coupe and convertible bodystyles. Though based on the
C5 platform, about 85% of the vehicle is new. Substantial changes include an
upgraded, better performing suspension, and a stronger engine that produces 400 hp
and 400 lb-feet of torque. Other significant refinements include a more upscale
interior and exterior styling changes such as fixed headlights. The convertible
offers a power-operated top for the first time in over thirty years. Other options
on the models include Z51 Performance Package, dual removable roof panels (coupe
only), and Magnetic Selective Ride Control. The higher performance Z06 model is
expected in the next model year. Several new colors are available, although the
preliminary Precision Red color will be replaced mid-year by Victory Red.

- Standard: 6.0-L V-8 LS2 engine producing 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of
torque (298 kw and 542 Nm)

- Extended mobility tires (run flat), Keyless Access and Start system,
AM/FM/CD/MP3 audio system
- New options: OnStar, DVD-based navigation system, dual-mode head up display
- Rigid body structure provides exceptional handling and interior quietness
